New TV adaptation of novel by Iain Banks

The BBC has commissioned an adaptation of Iain Banks’ novelĀ Stonemouth to be broadcast next year. Set in a fictional village in Scotland, the book explores the complex relationships and events that culminated in the death of the protagonist’s close friend which bring him back to the place where he grew up.

One wonders if this production may be affected by the outcome of the referendum on Scottish independence.
