A Brief History of Seven Killings

And the winner of this year’s Man Booker prize is…

Marlon James.

It was a unanimous choice of the judges and a decision that was reached quickly. I haven’t read it but given its starting point is an attempt on the life of Bob Marley, whose music I love, I will get it and add it to my pile of unread books at the bedside. Well, in truth the pile extends way beyond the bedside but you know what I mean. And its 680 pages and 75 plus characters give it a Trollopian breadth in which a whole world can be recreated. Looking forward to tackling it (even the language that Trollope would not have used).
