Old Qu’ran found in Birmingham

A remarkable find was made by a PhD student during their researches at Birmingham University. Amongst the documents collected by Alphonse Mingana in the 1920s and donated to the University was discovered a very old copy of the Qu’ran. Radiocarbon dating places it as written no later than AD 645, which is within a generation or so of the death of the Prophet Mohammed, who died in AD 632. It is possible the writer may have met or seen the Prophet preaching.
