Trollope makes another Top 100

In at number 76, with Barchester Towers, Anthony Trollope makes another critic’s top 100.  This time the compiler is Edmund Shorter writing about turn of the last century. He excluded living authors but then named 8 who he would have otherwise included. For the record I have read only fourteen of the list and I think some of the novels he selects have subsequently disappeared without trace (even on Project Gutenberg).

I am indebted to Maria Taney who spotted the article and to Susan Cooper who forwarded Maria’s link to me.
