Death railway book wins 2014 Man Booker

Tasmanian writer Richard Flanagan has won the 2014 Man Booker prize with his book The Narrow Road to the Deep North about the impact of an illicit love affair on a man who is later caught up in the building of the Thailand Burma railway as a prisoner of the Japanese during World War 2.
