Belinda Bauer’s fourth novel, Rubbernecker, has been awarded the Crime Novel of the Year Prize at the Theakston’s Old Peculiar Crime Festival in Harrogate.

Bauer’s first three novels were all set in the fictional west country village of Shipcott in the Exmoor region of North Devon, evoking parallels with Trollope’s Barchester series – albeit with a somewhat more violent population of characters.
